What’s the difference between a Brazilian Wax and a Bikini Wax?

Brazilian Wax and a Bikini Wax – whats the difference?

Bikini, Brazilian, Extended bikini, French bikini, Hollywood, The Sphinx, The Playboy, The European, Thong Wax, The Landing Strip…the list goes on…how many names have you heard for a “bikini wax”? It seems that everyone has coined their own term for different amounts of hair removed on the bikini area. How is one expected to know what they want?!

At Botanica Beauty Therapy we try to keep it simple. We have three different styles of waxing for the pubic region. We do a Regular Bikini, an Extended Bikini and a Brazilian.

Below is the description of each:

  • Regular Bikini Wax: Any hair outside the average underwear line, and sometimes leading onto the leg is removed.
  • Extended Bikini Wax: Hair is removed from the bikini line as well as slightly beyond, as if you were wearing high cut underwear.
  • Brazilian Wax: This includes all of the hair in the pubic area, everything in the front, and the hair between the buttocks.  Some women choose to leave a small “landing strip” or choose not to do the back. Each of these are still in the realm of a Brazilian wax.

If you’re undecided, that’s okay too. We can talk you through it and help you decide once you’re here. Botanica Beauty Therapy offers safe and gentle waxing for both men and women. Our spa quality waxes are formulated with botanical’s such as hemp seed oil, ideal for sensitive skin.
